Rooted in the heritage that helped define Taylor’s rise, the Legacy 914ce draws inspiration from one of the most beloved eras in the company’s history while offering a refined, modern playing experience. This instrument pays tribute to Bob Taylor’s early vision — blending timeless tonewood pairings with elegant appointments and contemporary craftsmanship. It’s a guitar that feels like a bridge between past and present, built for players who appreciate both tradition and innovation.
At its core, the pairing of Engelmann spruce and Indian rosewood delivers a rich, expressive tonal palette. The Engelmann top offers a slightly softer, more mature response than Sitka, producing a warm, open voice with enhanced midrange complexity, while the rosewood back and sides add depth, shimmering highs, and lush overtones. Whether fingerpicking delicate passages or strumming full-bodied chords, this Grand Auditorium responds with balance, clarity, and dynamic sensitivity.
The Legacy 914ce also stands out visually, adorned with striking Cindy inlays, green abalone purfling, and rosewood binding that elevate its classic aesthetic. Its comfortable neck profile and Venetian cutaway make it equally suited for stage and studio work, while the LR Baggs Element VTC electronics ensure that its natural acoustic character translates beautifully when amplified. Available now at Haggerty’s Music, this guitar is built to inspire.

How accurate are your condition descriptions?
We treat condition grading as a contractual promise, not an approximation. When we list something as excellent, that reflects a specific, consistent standard we apply across every instrument.
